Oh, man. That short was awesome. So were the ones where the Wonder Twins used their useless powers to make situations REALLY bad, or this one where Scrappy-Doo makes Dexter cry.
Sadly, no, they don't do this stuff any more. I think Cartoon Network's overall quality started to nosedive when they changed the logo to the more simplified new one. Then reduce Toonami to Saturdays only (replaced on the weekdays with Miguzi... which doesn't exist any more)... And then a lot of their bumps involve real kids jumping around acting stupid. Oh, and let's not forget live-action movies and TV series... on Cartoon Network.
Plus, so many of today's shows really lack style. A lot are draw with too many stright lines and thick outlines, and characters look bland and rigid because of this.
But, I guess if that's what sells to the mainstream, then who the hell cares about quality, am I right?
Perhaps I'm a bit too cynical on modern-CN. And perhaps my look to the past is harmed by nostalgia (some line about the coolest stuff was around when you were 12 or something like that...)
But, seriously, What happened to TOM?! Hell, I even liked the potbellied version... But still, Moltar was superior to all versions of TOM...
lol, oh wow. Never seen that Scrappy one before. XD
We get live action stuff on Teletoon now and then as well, movies at least. But at least they're usually cartoon-related... Batman, Superman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...
...Spaceballs, not so much, but damn if you'll find me faulting that.
Moltar and Tom rocked. I still remember "The Intruder."
Seems stuff went downhill shortly after I left... guess I got out just in time. Or maybe that was the catalyst...
"Someday, we'll be as developed as you!"
