On the upside, it seems unlikely that anyone would be hassled by their peers locally, unless they're either really tall, or just... you know. 8 years old.
But on a national level...?
Funny that it's only a $25 fine... if they're that serious about this, then shouldn't a child's life be worth more than $25?

Date: 2008-07-14 08:49 am (UTC)I've heard some pearl-clutching What About The Childrening before, but this just utterly blows my mind. This is actually somehow worse than putting in GPS chips into your kids or giving them bullet-proof vests, because its so bloody unnecessary. Would it really save THAT many lives?
What next? They'll have to wear helmets inside the cars too? Force all parents to be tethered to their kids? Require mothers to chew food and then reguritate it to little Billy so he won't choke on a piece of apple? Holy god.
