Jun. 30th, 2008 01:21 amThis is both the greatest and the worst Summer for movies, ever.
The amount of stuff I want to see is staggering, but the cost to see them all is, too.
Let's see...
May 2 -Iron Man
May 9 - Speed Racer
May 16 -The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
May 22 -Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
June 6 - Kung Fu Panda, You Don't Mess with the Zohan (Anyone seen it? Good, bad?)
June 13 - The Incredible Hulk
June 20 -Get Smart, The Love Guru (actually, heard that one wasn't that good)
June 27 -WALL•E
July 1 - Hancock
July 11 - Hellboy II: The Golden Army, Meet Dave
July 18 - The Dark Knight
August 1 - The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (Sorta; never saw the second, but I did see Scorpion King)
August 15 - Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Maybe; I already saw the original cartoon)
August 22 - Hamlet 2
After all that, it kind of trickles off... not much grabs me until... *flip-flip-flip* ...November 21,
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Still need to see the last one, though...
On the upside, so far I've loved every one I've seen.

Date: 2008-06-30 04:34 pm (UTC)Basically, it's about a nobody kind of guy who learns he has the ability to be trained to join a league of super-assassins. You can think of it as kind of Fight Club meets The Matrix? But I think that doesn't really do it justice. It's got some cool, very fun action sequences, but the special effects are just one of many things to like about the movie, in my opinion. It's just visually awesome and fun to watch, but not without substance!
That's my take on it, anyway. It's also based on a comic book, but I don't know much about that. I'm interested in checking it out now, though!

Date: 2008-06-30 02:26 pm (UTC)The Dark Knight however looks amazing and i'll be there opening night.
Also if you haven't seen Hulk yet, go now, especially now that you seen Iron Man, make that your next choice, won't be dissapointed, promise ya!

Date: 2008-06-30 07:14 pm (UTC)Personally I'm still waiting on Dark Knight, but I do need to rush to a theater like right now to see Wall-E. Man that looks neat.
But wait, how is M. Night's new classic "The Happening" not on your list?! TRAVESTY!! (Here's the twist: the trees did it. There, I saved you ten bucks.)
