She said she tried finding a bigger place for the pack of hyenas she's raising up there, but to no avail; she'd have even taken us with. But since she couldn't, she's expanding operations downstairs.

As for them helping us move? Maybe, dunno... somehow, that idea doesn't enthuse me...
Yeah, they would probably just break and steal your stuff if they "helped"... Maybe you could ask for some help renting moving equipment? The sooner you guys get out of there, the sooner she can use it... It's nice she at least gave you advance notice, but it's still a pretty sucky thing for her to do. Maybe if you can play her sympathies...

We've already had our suspicions there. I hope they prove to be false, as I'd rather find the Sonic Red gave me, my Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold disc and case, and Red's RPGs.
Maybe we can get help, but I'm not banking on it...

Hmm, we need to find a new place, we need to get boxes to move our stuff(fortunately, unpacking is something I've never been as keen on as Red is), and we need money to move the stuff, or at least get a truck. Current plan is that we hope to move a little of the dead stock(video tapes, books, old boxed stuff we don't really use) into Red's parents' basement. That'll help reduce the moving costs and need for a larger place.
Doubt there's money on hand to contribute, but that's all we really need, so we can move and put towards a new down payment on a place.
Go to your local Grocery Stores and find out when they get their shipments in, then take their boxes when they're done. Me and my family have done it the past 5 times we've moved. Works great.
