Sep. 24th, 2007 06:41 amOy, some weird dreams. Both involving Galvatron, strangely. One where he was colored black instead of purple/blue, and had essentially managed to ascend to a near-godhood of sorts. The "evil" Galvatron, definitely (not that there's a good). The only actual physical representation I remember, though, was in a toy form. But at least it was one bad-ass toy.
The other dream was a bit weirder. I don't even remember enough of it to put into a proper context, except it had Batman and stuff, and wound up having the "crazy/funny" Galvatron. There was some sort of stockpile of something or other, and the setting was more or less like the bookstore I just finished working at. I think he accused me/the guys I was with of taking something, and it had just fallen behind the shelf instead, kind of spilling, and he blasted whoever was responsible.
I'm sure there are those who could tell me what this stuff means. I'm not sure I want to know.
Yesterday, I went to this gaming thing at Best Buy. It was filled with fun and disappointment, and I'll write up a more full report on PMO. I'm not sure it should be a full-blown article, or just a front-page post with pics, though. Opinions are welcome.
The biggest disappointment for me was that all I got to walk away with was some literature and a coupon for a free body spray. And later, I found myself disappointed that I didn't just gather more of the coupons to use.
Apparently, my brain's not big enough to compete very well in Big Brain Academy or Brain Age 2, nor did I have any luck of the draw for the raffles. I really wish I'd won something, like a 360, a Wii, a DS Lite, anything. Not that I need or want any of it (well, a Lite would be a nice upgrade for me, since my DS has become rather lovingly worn), I don't, but there are people I know I'd have loved to have given any of it to. So even though I didn't outright expect to win, that doesn't mean I wasn't hoping.
Maybe someday I won't HAVE to win something for people. That would sure be nice.
After the raffle for a DS Lite prize pack, they also tossed out some Wii hats, and I was mercilessly ignored. Why does it seem like whenever people are just tossing stuff out, I never wind up with any of it?
But despite all that, it was fun. I didn't stick around the entire time, however, as they seemed pretty stringent about one chance to win on anything, and I wasn't sure that hanging around for two and a half hours so that I MIGHT get another chance to MAYBE get a hat was worth it.
Edit: Now I feel sorta down. I don't know if it's related to this or something else, though.

Date: 2007-09-25 02:37 am (UTC)For example, I've subscribed to NP since I was 6. For about the first 10 years, I sent in applications for the contests, and never even won a booby prize.
I always thought those t-shirts were keen.
On a slightly more positive note, I'm going to let scans_daily decide what the next NP comic postings will be. I was wondering, if LoZ: Link's Awakening is chosen, would you consider posting that series while I find all the Mario ones? I've got the Metroid ones but...but damn, do they suck hard.
