Sep. 1st, 2004 01:23 pmThanks goes out to
zaphy, who sent us a lovely Trigun poster(packaged in LOVE AND PEACE, as well as some cardboard tubing), a cool little Mettaur gashapon, a neat Link pin from LoZ: MM, and best of all(for me), a MegaMan NT Warrior figure of... well, MegaMan.
Not shown: Picture of me grinning like a damned idiot upon receiving the figure. Very nice figure, excellent sculpt, lovely paint apps, and almost as much articulation as the Jazwares Mega Man figures(NT's shoulders don't swing out). Improved on the Jazwares product is the firing spring, which launches the projectile farther, and that BOTH hands can be swapped out for weapons; I have him with WideSword and Mega-Buster facing off against my defenseless 90s Bandai Ruby-Spears version Mega Man figure. NT is taller, too, but shorter than the Jazwares figures, which I prefer in the latter case, and am indifferent to in the former.
He also came with one of my favorite Battle Chips, HiCannon. It's neat, seems like a real chip of sorts. Now, if only I had a PET to use it with...
Too bad that some tape got stuck to the packaging, and tore some of it off. :( Ah well, the figure is safe, that's the important thing. As much as I like to preserve packaging, this stuff happens, and it won't be me who sells it anyway(it'd be my someday-grandchildren when they need some quick cash, I bet).
My favorite line from the package: "Each sold separately and subject to availability." Leave it to Mattel, who killed He-Man this way. There's your explanation, Bass fans!
I gotta get my ass out to the Mattel store sometime and see if they can get me any Bass figures... after that, it's straight to eBay for some quick cash(much as I'd like to keep one).
