Random Thoughts from a Random Person
Aug. 31st, 2004 08:31 pmThank you,
maqqy96. Some things ARE just that funny.

So I've got some new burned CDs in the ol' motor vehicle. One features Sonic Heroes' "This Machine" song, one I really like. But is it me, or does the guy singing it sound a bit like Liquid Snake of Metal Gear Solid fame, at least some of the time?(and I think he does He-Man in the recent series, too, as I recall).

The job hunt continues. One or two options look good, though. But I've learned not to let my hopes get up beyond considering it a mere possibility.

Amusing article in Game Informer, it's a sort of open forum letter that they seem to do each issue from someone in the video game industry, giving a sort of insider perspective on different issues. This issue? How developers don't deliberately try to make a game suck, but how there are reasons for things turning out as they do, etc., etc. The person writing this particular piece? A guy from Capcom who apparently worked on Mega Man Anniversary Collection.
The irony is so thick and so deep, I don't even know where to begin.
He didn't address that game, or any other specifically, but I think I have a fair idea of what inspired him...
Unfortunately, I do not remember the fellow's name offhand... Robert something, I believe. If anyone has this issue(I think it had Midnight Run 3 or some racing game on the cover), could you grab the name for me? A scan of the page(legible) would be even better, as I'd like to post it to The Mega Man Network.

Meanwhile, over in Gamepro, last issue(still there with the new one for some reason), they talk a bit about Mega Man Zero 3. It goes on to describe Neo Arcadia as a place in which Reploids and humans are able to coexist peacefully. Sort of a half-truth, I guess... still, kinda leaves out the part about where if a Reploid doesn't kiss some serious human ass, then they put a bullet through its skull.

Read two comics during a stop at Indigo Books today. One was a funny Batman Adventures comic(based on the animated series) with the Joker. Good stuff.
The other was Sonic the Hedgehog, with "Return to Angel Island part 2(I think)." I still don't care for the artist, and he seems to have been given the whole run of the arc. Shame, because the story seems good... I like the introduction of old Sonic game elements into the Floating Island's geography, storywise at least.
Funny thing... there was no trace of Shonen Jump there.

And I guess that's all for now.
