I believe I can sum up today in two simple words: total bust.

The plan was ever-so simple. I would go back to my workplace one last time, pick up my check (at the front desk by a certain time, I was told), and while there, thank those who gave me work for a brief period and then see if the people at Rogers were hiring. Then, stop by the bank, drop off the check and switch some money from one account to the other, and done.

I arrived at my workplace, and as I was hoping to enter to go to the front desk, I was strangely halted by the lady there refusing to open the door for me. After a moment, she went elsewhere, and came back with my check, opening the door to hand it out to me. Strange.

I, holding a resume, asked if I might be able to speak to someone from the Rogers side of things to see about possible work. She looked back to the door where the call center is for a brief moment, almost like seeing what someone would say, before telling me that no one was there. Even though some people had just come up and gone in through the other door, the key-access door at about the same time I got there. Stranger still.

I realize I'm perhaps being just a little paranoid, but it all struck me as a bit... suspicious. Maybe you just had to be there, but it felt like she was hiding something.

Maybe it's just me. There wasn't really much else I could do, and so I left. I didn't have time to waste, anyway, as I had to get to the bank before they closed at 5:30. With the added nuisance of carrying a resume along for the ride.

Thanks to the extra-chunky-styled fluidity of the TTC, I eventually got there at 5:04. And yet for some reason, now they're closed at 5. Well, that's just f'n perfect. So now it'll be Monday before I'm able to deposit my check and switch the money from my US account to the Canadian one.

The fun part of all this is that, had I not bothered to go, they were going to mail my check out to me, and I should have gotten it Tuesday. And for all I managed to accomplish after waiting to do everything on one bus trip, I probably should have just waited. It would've saved me about $5.50, at the very least.

The hell? The bank closed early? That really sucks, and that sort of laziness is something I'd only expect to see here in New Mexico.

Sorry man, that sucks. And I still have no idea what happened to the package I sent via the Post Office. Last time I tried tracking, it just plain didn't work, but I'll keep checking...

No, it seems they closed on time. It just seems that the hours they have posted now aren't the hours they had posted the last time I visited.

Oh, maybe the old hours were holiday hours? Well... I dunno, but it still stinks.

Yeah, and I checked again, and I still can't track the package. I have a customs form number, and an insurance form number, and neither work. This is the same Post Office that conveniently "forgot" to redeliver a package of mine, so I wouldn't be surprised if they screwed up the paperwork somehow or outright lied to me.

I'd be giving them some serious hell on this. I mean, you paid for a service, and now they're failing to give it to you? And this has happened before? I'd be pissed. As in, "calling down the fire" pissed.
