Jul. 3rd, 2007 03:41 amMy mostly spoiler-free review of TransFormers: The Movie.
I'm a little new to the review game, but hopefully this relieves any fears.

Also, I forgot to mention, it's true what they say: Bay really does make the military look good.

I was a little more annoyed by the B-plot with Maggie (did you know that was her name? They never even said it in the whole film), after reading Ben Yee's review after seeing the movie. The stuff going on there seemed kind of needless within the movie itself. But Sector 7 seemed ok. You've seen one government organization formed a century ago to combat possible alien threats and utilize their technology, you've seen them all.

Date: 2007-07-04 12:12 am (UTC)I do agree on the latter points, especially for Decepticons. Autobots were ok. And the camerawork I think is what made the fights confusing. It was akin to strapping a camera to the knee or ankle of one of the combatants in a fight, and following it from that. You sort of get what's happening around the ends, but the middle becomes a bit of a mess.
