Spam, I'm sort of used to. I by no means like it, but it's become one of those things you just come to accept as you try to get on with your life. Like having Bush in office. *rimshot*

Seriously, though, it's begun to trickle over into LJ, and it's becoming just a wee bit bothersome. Nothing too serious, though. Yet.

But one thing does bother me more than anything out of all this.

Why are they all drawn to this post.

I've left a couple up, but I've deleted many, many more from here.

I suppose in theory, I could lock the post and end the problem, but I'm sort of curious to see how far this goes.

It's not become a big enough issue that I feel it warrants that (yet), however.

It's probably because of the mention of Paris Hilton. If you allow your LJ to be indexed by search engines (which is the only way you can search it yourself), I'm sure spam crawlers must look for popular terms and find that post of yours.

Yeah, turning off anonymous posting would get rid of these, but I like allowing them. I've known enough people who don't have their own LJ, but want to comment anyway, and anonymous posts is the only way they can do it... Besides, I find LJ spam doesn't come in high enough volumes to be that big of a nuisance.
