Big surprise, Dave & Buster's was a bust.

The hunt continues tomorrow.

In the meantime, I hate our VCR and TV. TV has a nice blurry, static-ish top section, which makes playing some games really damn difficult, if not impossible. And our VCR seems to be on its last legs... I'll probably try a cleaning kit, but I doubt it'll do much good.

I'm supposed to go check out Humber College later this month, the 24th to be precise. I'm wondering if I should go back to school now while there's still some money in the account, and get our lives on track all the sooner, or continue to wrestle with jobs and wait to see if things improve first, hopefully going in January. Seems all I need for what I'm after is a two-semester course...

If you can get some education towards a job.. then you should probably do so..

...but I don't speak from experience XP

Actually, a cleaning kit might do better for your VCR then you think. Worked wonders on my old one. Are you having troubles getting it to read the cassette and have to pull it out and shove it in a bunch (like an old Game Boy cartridge)?

That's too bad about Dave and Buster's, it seemed like a nice place to work. Good luck finding a new job.

No, just the tracking is often from horrible to downright unwatchable on some things, usually cartoons... skipping and stuff like that.

Looks like hard times are happening for you. I think you should go take some courses, with that education you'll probably get better jobs and make more money in the long run. The stastics prove it. Good luck any ways.

Hmm how old is your VCR any ways? Maybe it's about to "retire" itself. I

Cuts off after ""retire" itself. I" ;P

Anyway, I'm not sure how old the VCR is... a few years, at least. I think it was bought in '99...

Strange, mine's almost as old as I am, and it still works ... relatively okay.

I treat it the same way I did my old NES; blowing dust out of it, smacking it once in awhile... usually if you put a tape in right away, it'll static up or just show a blue screen, so I have to try a few times. Yours sounds like it needs similar treatment.

Might I recommend while signing up for courses you try to find on On campus job? Most colleges (I would assume its the same in Canada) offer Tuition reductions or even free tuition if you work for them for however long is required. My mother got through College at Northeastern University that way, and they still offer similar programs even now. Might be worth a shot.
