Dragon Day
Apr. 15th, 2007 04:29 amJust sort of felt like sharing.
As I said on PMO last night, I'm in sort of a "henshin"/Sentai mood lately, which might be part of why my curiousity of MegaMan Star Force has risen. Mainly for the Dragon version, though.
I'm not exactly chomping at the bit for it, though. For starters, I need to finish BN5 DS, then see about playing 6 somehow. THANKS FOR THE DS RELEASE, CAPCOM.
Sheesh.
Don't read too much into it as an endorsement, though, I probably won't get it until the price comes down unless a) I get to play it and really like it, b) someone convinces me to get it/money's not that big of an issue(HA! HA! HA!), or c) someone gets fed up with it and gives me their copy (it happens).
But all the same, I'm more interested now than I have been since the damn thing was announced.
So, anyway, for the hell of it, I decided to replace the Black Draco avatar on MMN for the time being with the following:

You can see the full-size version here.
Looks alright, I guess. I'd hoped to make the colors sort of have a similar look of saturation, but I guess it sort of works in a background-focus/foreground-focus kind of way. Might think about redoing it without all the energy, and make MegaMan bigger.
Was also going to have the two dragon symbols in opposite corners, top left and bottom right, but with the empty space going on at the top right, I just decided to work with that.
Sort of a side-note, I know at least one person who thinks that I like dragons because of Red, but that's really not true. I won't say she didn't add anything to my interest, but I was digging them long before. TransMetal 2 Megatron was coolness, and before that of course, I think Dragonzord, Red Dragon Thunderzord, and Serpentera were what really fueled it.
Before that, there was the awesome Warrior Dragon from Archie's TMNT Adventures (not to mention Dragon Lord, a fave villain from Next Mutation), and before that, my favorite Zelda bosses were Gleeok and Aquamentus; the latter because for some reason, "first" bosses seem sort of neat to me, and the former because he WOULD KICK YOUR ASS. A four-headed Gleeok would kick your ass so hard.
And I guess if you wanted to count him, there's always Bowser, too...
So, yeah. Dragons tend to kick ass. My only complaint is how their use tends to err towards being evil more often than good. Especially in TransFormers, though I'd say Scourge/Flame Convoy turned that around nicely in Cybertron. I always thought a dragon Optimus would rock, and this is sort of close... Really wish I'd gotten ahold of his figure, though. At least I have the small Legends of Cybertron figure.

Date: 2007-04-15 06:30 pm (UTC)Either that or the annual "Crocodile eat man's arm after provoking him!" news story. But what are you doing messing around with crocs anyway? :P
Dragons are revered in the East, they are mythical beasts to slay in the West. Go figure.
