Apr. 6th, 2007 02:07 amDecent day at work today. They had everyone mixing it up a bit at set intervals, so we weren't making the same calls all day long. Quite nice.
Some amusing calls. One was Peggy Hill. No lie.
Another was a call to a lady who had registered with a contest with a station prior, and was being called back for a new one. Well, she didn't live there any more. Turns out I got her ex-mother-in-law, who was happy to sign up.
Can you imagine that? Being called for someone you probably don't care for, and possibly winning something grand as a result? Is this irony?
That was fun. As opposed to the awkwardness of calling up a lady who turns out to be the ex-wife of fifteen years ago of the husband of the lady I'm presently speaking to. Ouch!
So, a little good news, bad news. Bad is that I got surprised with the fact that we don't work tomorrow (today now) or Saturday. So I'll be lacking about a hundred-ten, I figure.
Good news is, at least I can catch up on some rest and work on some things.
ladyguardian, you free to chat sometime over the next few days?
Sounds like there may be some possibility I could get continued work with this place. Seems it could be on a contract-by-contract basis, though, assuming I did well enough to merit a return, but I seem to be improving fairly well over the duration, best as I can figure. My super seemed rather pleased at the first numbers she took for me today, which showed a 100% conversion rate, not to mention later on revealing I was one of the ones who marked down all the correct genders for people we'd called (something of an issue they were having there).
So at the very least, I'm not in the doghouse. But as I've learned, just because something seems likely, doesn't mean the chances are good.

Date: 2007-04-11 06:00 am (UTC)I don't know what the job holds for me, if anything, after Saturday, but I get off at 7 that day and don't work Sundays nor Mondays.
During that time might also be a good time to chat online or something about podcasting. :)
I'll mention this to Red so she can check and see if she has anything going on; I know she's meeting her brother on Thursday night, though, but since I work 5:30-11, it's sort of a moot point anyway.
