I might not be bothered so much if it seemed like they actually put some effort into this stuff. This isn't even trying.
Anyway, big thanks to
shinkuu for the package, a most unexpected surprise, and quite a blast. And I hope to put the book to good use sooner or later. Or maybe both. :)
Red thinks she knows what was wrong with the package, I think she said it wasn't marked as a gift... I think. Memory's a little fuzzy there.

Date: 2007-02-28 01:30 pm (UTC)Wish I could've gotten you some more recent stuff! I was trying to get Wii Play but it was sold out the first week it came out...

Date: 2007-02-28 02:29 pm (UTC)I'm really liking Sonic so far! At first I was thinking this'd just be a cakewalk of a game ("What do you do? Move left, move right, and jump!"), but it's certainly not without its challenge. I got stuck at this one mission (I think it's optional though, since two missions opened at once) where you had to get through the stage without breaking any pots, and the slightest brush will destroy one.
After spending nearly an hour trying to get through, I made it to the end without breaking one, but found my path was blocked by a magic wall and I wasn't sure if I had to solve some puzzle or if I didn't have the right abilities to get past it yet.
I forgot to mention, but my friend recently picked up Wii Play, and we got to try it out for a bit. That game was better than I expected! Minigames are fine by me, but I've been feeling under a bit of minigame overload lately, so I wasn't too excited about Wii Play... But all the games look like fun! The Duck Hunt-style game, the "Pose Mii" game, the laser hockey game (kind of like Pong 2000), the billiards game... It only seems to be two-player, though.

Date: 2007-02-28 03:29 pm (UTC)And I LOVE getting the POW icon. One of the best invincibility sequences ever.
Pity on the 2P, but I guess I'm lacking Minigames, outside of Mario Party 7, which I've finally put down for a bit.
I hear the tank battle one is really good...

Date: 2007-02-28 07:22 pm (UTC)And yes, gotta love the POW!
I didn't get to stay long enough to witness the tank game... But yeah, Wii Play is sounding better all the time! Still no easier to find a copy, though... My friend got the last one in a 20-mile radius. The guy in line in front of him? Second-to-last copy.

Date: 2007-03-01 07:21 pm (UTC)Also, back when the PS3 was still scarce, he was able to just walk into a Best Buy and buy one. I think the only system he didn't have to be lucky to get ahold of was the 360, since he waited until summer for that one...
Yeah, Excite Truck was definitely one of my early faves. For one, I'd like to see more countries! It's nice they have so many tracks, but a lot of them look the same. And of course, four-player might've been nice... But I guess those are obvious things. What were you thinking of?
