Honestly, though, I was never too fond of the Smurfs (or their underwater counterparts, the Snorks). Sure, I watched the cartoon a lot years ago... but, hey, Cartoon Network sure played it a lot before they got new, original junkshows.
And, as several posters there already mentioned (yourself included), the Smurfs sure are foul-mouthed. :P
So, in honor of this comic strip, I propose some "new" net lingo: WTS = What the Smurf STSU = Shut the Smurf up GTSO = Get the Smurf out etc... :P
It's interesting that Smurfs are one thing that wasn't crammed out with everything else during "80's revival nostalgia time." But their 20th anniversary is coming up, and I'd sort of like to see them again.
Incidently, I'd love to see how Smurfs might be if they existed today, instead of the middle ages...
