Ever have that feeling of impending doom? I sort of have that right now.
I do not expect to be employed by the end of the day.
I expect to be "relieved of my duties," as it were, and they will probably tell me they don't want to let me go, but:
a) They cannot afford to keep me on.
b) They could keep me, but it would not be worth my time.
When I went in a week ago to check my hours for this week, to my mild surprise, I found I had none.
Yesterday, I received a message on the phone from one of my managers. She was leaving at the time, but wanted me to get ahold of another manager as soon as I could today, who should be in at 1pm. Since today is when the new schedule goes up, I will go in as per usual to do my thing, and inquire about it then, face to face.
Or who knows? Maybe my putting 110% into my job and literally having to be ordered to leave before my scheduled time after doing two peoples' jobs makes me an insufficient worker, and they feel they have no choice but to terminate me.
Guess we'll see.

Note: I'm more or less writing this so that, when I find out what exactly this is about, I can sort of run off a checklist to see how many, if any, things I was right about.
