lbd_nytetrayn: Star Force Dragonzord Power! (Default)

Got a few items, if anyone's looking in Portrait of Ruin. I've acquired a number of Dragon Slayers, second-most powerful sword in the game (8, I'm keeping one). I'm also looking at getting more Final Swords, the most powerful sword in the game, or at least that I've found.

Plus, 9 Skull Rings. These babies up your stats quite nicely. The downside is, you're cursed while wearing it.

Which is no big unless you use a lot of spells or special weapons.

So if you've just started the game and are having a little trouble, then come on down!

Just an FYI, selling item sin Portrait of Ruin doesn't mean you lose them. Also I'm not even sure if you even have ot actually own the item anymore, you might have just had ot have owned it once (ie it's in your unlocked weapons list).

Final Sword is easy to get by killing the Final Guardian just below the room where you fight Brauner (whatever his name is, the vampire guy). It's not directly below but it's pretty close. Use 1000 Blades for a "1 hit kill".

I find Meteor and Axe Bomber to be more effective on the big guy, personally.

...and damn. Now I feel like I've wasted my time.

I'm missing either spell 33 or 66 from the list, I need to check, anyone have that?

The big guy only has like 50 HP and I'm pretty sure 1000 blades does 50 1 HP hits to him.

As for spells, 33 is SPeed Up, 66 is Thor's Bellow. I don't remember who drops 33, but 66 comes fromt he huge Horsehead looking guy. There's one in the Den of Evil in the first room on floor 4 I think, maybe it's 5 or 6, he's in the first room. If he doesn't drop it you can go into standby mode then reset the game and start over restoring the enemies.

It seems to vary, whether he can stand up to 1,000 Blades or not. The other two are sure-fire.

And 66 is what I need, then.

I didn't know that standby restored enemies, though... kinda crazy, but may be just what I need.

That enemy reset trick is great when trying ot get drops int he Den of Evil. I'm like 6 enemies away from having all of the drops.

Nest of Evil, btw. ;)

And I am glad to hear that, as I was going to stop short otherwise...

Heh, I've started Richter mode myself. Doing REALLY bad with him... he makes me wreckless.

Btw, any idea what's with the two empty portraits at the credits?

Hmm, it was the last two... same thing happened when Red beat the game as well...
