The MegaMan Legends Collection Proposal
Jan. 28th, 2007 07:06 amIn the year 2006, war was beginning.
But amidst the rumblings of the rise of a new generation of video game consoles, a group of fans were looking into gaming's past as they hoped it might give rise to a new chapter in the future.
For the story of my pitched proposal to Capcom for a MegaMan Legends Collection and how it went down, check out my newest article.
And if you support the idea, or even MegaMan Legends itself, then please be sure to tell Capcom about it as well via the information provided at the bottom.
To make this miracle happen, all we need is a little support, and a lot of luck. It wouldn't take much time or effort to make your voice heard, so what have you got to lose?
And if you really support the idea, help spread the word to fellow gamers! Let's ALL tell Capcom what we want!

Date: 2007-01-28 04:28 pm (UTC)I would like to see a Wii version, as the possible new control scheme would be incentive to play the games over again. But would Capcom be willing to put in that kind of effort (or perhaps, outsource the effort)?
The same problem lies for adding Rockboard. Game was never in English before, which would require some translation work.
Still, can't say I'm against any of the suggestions. It all sounds good. But it all comes down to Capcom feeling it worth it to pursue.
Ideally, the port of Legends would have the smoother graphics of MegaMan 64, and the higher-quality sound of MegaMan Legends...
But, yeah, I'll do my part to support this idea. I'll still annoyed the PSP ports didn't come here (even though I lack a PSP...).

Date: 2007-01-28 07:26 pm (UTC)But, this again comes to the problem that it'd require effort to bring the Legends series to the DS...
And Capcom might not be willing to put that kind of effort into a series that hasn't been very profitable...
I think a Legends Collection on PS2 (and maybe GameCube, too) would be the best way to test the waters on investing in the series again.
PS2, for the massive install base, and the fact the games were already on PS, so minimal changes would have to be made.
GameCube, because Nintendo seems to be Megaman's home, huh? I mean, I've heard the GameCube versions of the last two collections sold better (although, I'd like to see some sales figures to prove this, one way or the other). Plus, it'll still be something good for Wii owners to pick up (perfect backwards compatability, ya know?)

Date: 2007-01-28 07:39 pm (UTC)And yeah, I figure with most of the Mega Man stuff coming out on Nintendo, it'd probably sell better there because that's where the fanbase is.
