I don't really know what to think of last night's WWE pay-per-view, The Great American Bash, except "convenient hypocrisy."
I dunno, something about outright murder in wrestling just doesn't strike me well, especially when said company in question vowed they'd never do such a thing.
Yeah, you read that right. And it seems Paul Bearer is dead. Yeah, I know it's scripted and all, but still... I find it unsettling somehow, especially after watching the show live when one of my favorites, Owen Hart, fell to his death.
Granted, it's Smackdown crap, but still...

- WWE's own WWEParents.com site states the following policy:
"Actions you will not see WWE characters portray are murder, rape or robbery."
Of course, The Undertaker was shown killing Paul Bearer last night on the PPV. [1wrestling.com]

Date: 2004-06-28 09:47 am (UTC)This, this was basically sealing a guy in cement. Just strikes me as different. Undertaker, we expect to come back. It's what he does, and has done for a long time now. But Paul Bearer? There's far less certainty to him coming back...
