Man, if I'd known how effective sending e-mails for jobs was, I'd have NEVER gone in person.

Monday or Tuesday, I mail out copies of my resume and the application that The Keg has online to two other locations across the city. I get an e-mail from one location's general manager, telling me he'll pass it on to the kitchen manager, and I should hear back later in the week. Thursday, he calls and has me come right in.

So I haul ass and get down there. Don't really know how it went, I didn't really get a good or a bad vibe from the whole thing. He says he's looking at other applications, though, and if I don't hear from him in a week or two, "he's moved on." Fair enough.

He was also surprised at where I came from, as it was further away than he thought, and closer to the first location I tried, and he asked about my mailing, to which I explained what happened. He mentioned the possibility of contacting that kitchen manager about having me come back in. So that's cool.

Then YESTERDAY(Friday), I get another call, and I have an interview for Thursday next week at another location.

This is wild.

Yes! That sounds awesome! Wow, I had never even considered that before... Maybe so few people e-mail about jobs, you happened to stand out? Of course, the first rejection and your trek to that further location must've helped you stand out, too.

Looks like you've hit a 'downpour'. Seriously, it always seemed that as soon as I got a positive response, they'd ALL come pouring in at once!
