1) The first half of the year went so well, too. I am SORELY disappointed in Capcom right now.

-----

2) Capcom continues to disappoint, as they haven't commited to a patch yet, just saying Dead Rising is optimized for HD TVs, but they do offer some stopgap solutions.

-----

3) Genesis Collection for the PS2 in greater detail.

-----

4) TransFormers to appear in the feature film to be announced Friday.

-----

5) IGN gives a retrospective on the N64 classic The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

-----

6) Earthbound fans, take note.

-----

7) In Japan, Nintendo has this neat little program called "Club Nintendo" which offers neat promotional items in exchange for proof of purchases. One such item is a Nintendo Game & Watch Collection, featuring three classic Game & Watch games.

IGN takes a closer look.

I want this. Ought to hit up eBay...

-----

8) IGN says you should read this guide before taking the plunge for a Nintendo DS.

...that is, if you haven't already.

-----

9) GameDaily offers up a Killer Instinct Wish List.

Here's my KI Wish List:

1) Make a new Killer Instinct.

...and that's pretty much it.

-----

10) Not taking part in Nintendo.com's Camp Hyrule? Not to worry, if you're still interested in some of the goings-on(or are like me and just haven't been able to attend as much as you'd like), you can read all about it at N-Philes.

The chat with the NOA localization team was pretty good, but I didn't get my question answered. :(

-----

11) Tingle has a game. And that game has a commerical.

So bask. Bask in the forbidden fruit of fun. And fear for your soul.

-----

12) The official Mario vs. Donkey Kong site by Nintendo has a video you can watch showing the intro to the upcoming DS game, Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis.

-----

13) Sounds like Red Steel has made some strides since E3.

-----

14) I think we have something like this around here.

-----

15) Nintendo's Senior VP of marketing George Harrison talks turkey.

-----

16) Cool, I got linked at Press The Buttons for my noting an absence of Applause figures.

I personally keep a crapload of figures on the top shelf of the computer desk. It's like Mardi Gras up there.

-----

17) Man, Mark Bagley is leaving Ultimate Spider-man. :(

Mario Kart: Double Dash, an "unwelcome detour"? Seems a little harsh to me... Though I don't miss the two-racers-per-kart feature, I really liked it at the time... But man, that DS article makes two glaring omissions: Animal Crossing and Tetris DS!

Man. We really need a Club Nintendo.

Glaring omissions? The thing only mentions 3 games. Glaring omissions are a given. :\

Anyway yea, I hate it how everyone is overusing the phrase 'going back to its roots'. Mario Kart didn't go back to its roots because it never left them. There was nothing wrong with Double Dash except perhaps that it was just MORE of the same, not less. It had two people per kart, and it's just that some gamers were randomly uncomfortable with that for no reason. So here comes IGN tacking on extra opinions onto their spontaneous DS promotion.

1) KILL CAPCOM. KILL CAPCOM.

2) KILL CAPCOM. KILL CAPCOM.

3) Praise Sega! But, why no GameCube version? I mean, hasn't the GCN versions of the two Sonic collections sold best (although, Gems was a GCN-exclusive in North America). Then again, they'll probably release them all on Virtual Console. Here's hoping VC prices are competitive with these collections (especially since there'll be little-to-no updates or whatever to the games, and no production costs).

5) I always did like Majora's Mask more than Ocarina of Time. Not that I think OoT is a bad game. It's just that it's overrated like a lot of popular games (FF7, Halo, GTA series, etc.).

6) Would be great. And I hope NOA isn't stupid enough to skip over this for VC.

7) It goes for $60+ on eBay. I've checked, 'cause I want it, too. As awesome as it is, I don't think that's worth it.
We NEED an NOA-version of Club Nintendo! Have you seen some of the goodies they offer? They have offers where you could've shipped in your system (GBA SP or DS, as far as I know, were possible) and have its standard-issue casing replaced with a special Nintendo-themed one! And you could get a TV remote that looked just like Wii's controller! A Famicom Controller II faceplate for Game Boy micro (And I was hoping that'd at least be released here, since they brought over the Famicom GBm intact!). And so on!
But, if NOA did such a system, they'd have to give you points for the games they already had you registered (they haven't done much with game registrations...), as some of the junk's pretty pricey. Game & Watch Collection is 500 points, and I don't think you even get that much for registering a GameCube, if I've heard correctly!

11) I want this game. And so help me if NOA doesn't localize it.

14) Yeah, they used to have those here. Too bad I'm still not old enough to buy lottery tickets (21 in Arizona). Because I recall that even if your Scratchers card wasn't a winner, you could still mail it in for a drawing to win a Pac-Man arcade cabinet!

7) Actually, that's ~$60 if you wanna fight tooth and nail for a copy. If you want to guarantee it, the lowest Buy It Now is $80. Which is about $500 Canadian, right?
(Are US$ -> CAN$ jokes still funny, despite how weak the US dollar is now? 1 USD = 1.12179 CAD)

I'm just gonna try and find a ROM of it somewhere. At least, until NOA decides to make it easily accessable for Americans.

Since America still treats the Canadian dollar like it's worthless... well, I dunno.

The Sega thing for PSP is worth is just for the Phantasy Stars. And Sword of Vermillion holds a special place in my heart as the first Japanese RPG I ever completed. Even if it isn't very good.
