Just when you think PSP ads can't possibly be more retarded than jive-talking squirrels...

Has anyone seen the latest for PSP Greatest Hits? It's like talking genitalia(or maybe fingers) playing Romeo & Juliet and breaking it off because Romeo wants to play games and "has no time for love."

I miss commercials like this. You know, relevant.

Well, you know what they say. There's no such thing as bad publicity!

"Dude, have you seen those PSP commercials? They're terrible!"
"Yeah! They're a lot worse than those ones with the talking geckos."
"... I feel like I'm paying too much for my car insurance."

Man, I miss the old days. At least the New Super Mario Bros. commercial was pretty cool.

I suspect at this point, Sony realizes idiotic stunts like those borderline-offensive squirrels and the "white" ads are earning more attention then they'd get if they, I dunno, THOUGHT about how to sell the product.

Makes me glad I don't watch much TV, though.

It may get them attention, but it doesn't make me want a PSP any more than I already did.

And, ya know, I thought that was the purpose of advertising: getting people to want your product.

No, nor I. But to be honest, I don't know if there's an angle you really CAN push the PSP from anymore. If you want one, you probably have it, and it's not as if there's really any amazing title getting people interested in it. As well, the fact that everyone and their mother is dropping UMDs means they have one less angle to market.

I'm honestly wondering what'll happen next.

In Sony's mind, there is no such thing as bad advertising.
