Three reasons Firefox pisses me off(besides the fixed addresses in the drop-down address bar):

1) Ads still pop up, just not as frequently.

2) Sometimes when I close one window(such as on an image board), and click to the window I want to use while the new window is closing, it closes the original instead. I HATE that.

3) Sometimes, for no reason at all whatsoever, pressing some keys, like ' or / will bring up the "Find" option at the bottom, and I basically have to close Firefox and reopen to type what I was going to.

Sheesh.

Not that it doesn't have it's good points, but sakes...

If you push / you can usually push Esc key to get out of that.

I recommend Noscript if you want to get rid of the popups.

I've never run into #2 problem before. I wonder what it is you do that is making Firefox confused.

Try the keyboard shortcut for find again. Also, control-alt-delete and try again. Just opening the force shutdown window knocks it back into alignment for me. Though that is mac...

Eh, still problematic... about as much trouble as closing/reopening...

I don't understand your third reason. How exactly does that force you to close and reopen Firefox?

Because it prevents me from typing apostrophes or slashes at all. It opens the "Find" bar at the bottom, and if I click in the field I'm trying to type in, it disappears. But if I type the offending key again, it comes right back up.

I had number 3 sometimes too. Stopped after it updated a few times. I never figured out what was wrong with it.

Firefox can at least open pages on 1up.com. I don't know why, but Internet Explorer ALWAYS fails...

I've got nothing against Firefox, but I've just gotten used to the interface of Internet Explorer. Guess there's just no such thing as a perfect browser, though...

I've not really had any more problem with IE than FF for 1UP.

And yeah, seems they all have their faults.

While I find that feature (called "find as you type") to be immesurably useful, it is possible to turn it off. If you type 'about:config' into the address bar, then type 'find' into the search bar (it appears just under your tabs) you'll see an option called "accessibility.typeaheadfind." If it's set to true, just double-click on it to turn it off.

There's also a close button on the find bar on the left side.

I can type / and ' in textboxes in websites with no trouble. I wonder why yours screws up like that.

I don't know, either. It's completely random.

He's not the only one. It does that to me sometimes too. But rarely.
