Grumble Grumble...
Apr. 29th, 2004 02:17 amWhen the fuck did Metroid become gawd damn Metal Gear Solid, huh? This damn thing is pissing me off to no end, after they make the rest of the freaking game a cake-walk, with no real threats or enemies. THEN this bullshit, with the most useless weapon ever created as your sole means of support. One wrong move, and you're so totally fucked, it's not even funny.
Pisses me off how the beams from the pirates seem so damned selective in which enemies they'll actually destroy... usually if it's a pirate that's nowhere near you, THAT will be the one that goes down. And when did they learn to shoot diagonally, anyway? Or more accurately, when did they forget?
And for some reason, despite flawlessly completing the VR Missions of MGS numerous times, somehow things never worked right for me in the game proper. Same holds true here in MZM.
I'm getting sick of games trying to be other games... MM8 is another example, with its snowboard and shooter stages... and by extension, I guess X5's Ride Chaser stage.
And what's more, the wife keeps getting pissed off that I happen to curse when things go wrong. Loudly, I admit. But it's something I've always done, and will always do. It's the best way I have of venting without tearing shit up, as I've been known to do.
So I guess if I can't curse, I can't really get to the end of the game. Pity, it was a fun game up to a point, too.
...the least Nintendo could've done was give us Samus in her Metroid 3 non-armored outfit. :P

Date: 2004-04-29 12:02 am (UTC)Anyway... they finally establish that the Pirates really are incredibly strong. It's just Samus' armor that makes things easy.... Wish I could give some good advice, but uh. All I've got is that the ship is like one long SA-X sequence from Fusion. Which I think makes the whole thing more interesting...

Blathering on & on..
Date: 2004-04-29 10:10 am (UTC)Actually in renting Contra is where the trouble started with my controllers sticking. It's just like playing the Sega Genesis again :D And the SNES when they got up to Sigma (who congratulates you and pats you on the back for killing his dog) in MMX.
Really though, just don't mention the snowboaring in MM8. I can't begin to remember how many times I tried, how long I spent on that.. I never did beat it. Drove me fkin' nuts.
