lizsama's journal, regarding the Sonic comic, and I get this:

Anyway, in regards to Sonic #134, I WAS going to put this there, but since I've either a) fallen out of favor with her, or b) been the victim of an unfortunate mistake, and I don't feel like retyping it later or whatever, I'll post it here:
I've been away from the comic for awhile, the last one I saw(without seeing others in sequence, btw) was the Super Sonic one mentioned. What got me there was that it only took SIX Emeralds now for that. Right.
Second, Sonic X? Oy. That's just... why? They've covered Sonic Adventures 1 and 2, I think that'd cripple a bit of that sort of thing. Only good I could see coming of it is if they bring in Cream and Cheese.
As for Chaos... hell, it's been a year since Sonic left, right?
Story-wise, I think it was good. Artwise, man... it was bad. I couldn't be as analytical as Liz, as I only read it in Waldenbooks, but still... Sally just looked WRONG. She looked to me more like... I dunno. The eyes were a bit part of the wrongness.
I'm not one to just go around, bashing art, but this... they never should have done this. What happened to Axer? Is he not around anymore? The fact that the back-up story(which has my interest, btw) had better art is just... why? The art just ruined the impact this issue should have had. A few of the expressions were good, as Liz noted, but... ick.
And honestly, I think comparing this art to anime is an insult to Japan and all the stuff that influenced it. This reminds me more of "Totally Spies" and "Martin Mystery"-styled North American "anime", if anything. Except those do it better as well.
Still, despite not being able to keep up the past few years, I remain a supporter of the comics, hoping it'll reach a new high again(same reason I supported the Mega Man comics, despite hating almost everything about them but the last issue). Hopefully, that day will soon come.
...and what's STC? I might not be so familiar there.
