lbd_nytetraynI come online to see everyone talking about the new MTV cartoon, Spider-man. Now, I'm a moderately big Spider-man fan. Not to the degree I can tell you what happened during the Clone Saga or really much else that happened in the comics. I know some things, but my exposure is mostly through the Ultimate series, which ownz, and stuff like the animated series from Fox in the 90s.
And the movie, of course, on which this new series is based.
What gets me most, though, is that this new series is being made by Mainframe. Yes, that Mainframe. And where does it air? On MTV. In America. I've checked YTV, Teletoon, and even Mainframe's own website, trying to see where it's showing in Canada, if at all. Which apparently, it is not. Beautiful. Ironic. And above all else, sucktacular.
I'm not going to rant about this, but let me just say, this is probably the kind of thing that leads to people uploading stuff online, creating mod chips, and creating their own personal cable/satellite TV hook-ups. Who knows, maybe someday I'll be pushed to join those ranks. It's probably not that far off. If I'm going to sin while in this mortal shell, then what the hell, let's let it be for trying to see what others get to see. I screwed up my last year of high school trying to "fit in", may as well go all the way with something that actually interests me, right?

Date: 2003-07-11 11:22 pm (UTC)And they all forget about Gwen Stacy too =/ Just because a girl gets killed by the Green Goblin suddenly she's nobody. The one thing Stan Lee'd change about Spider-man, he says, would be to not kill Gwen. Sounds like a good idea.
