It's funny how things change. Growing up, I was like my mother, enjoying the holiday season in pretty much every aspect: stockings, decorations, putting up a tree, gift wrapping, etc.

Getting older, I started taking after my dad. A crude drawing of a tree with the presents underneath still in their shopping bags was plenty sufficient for me. Stockings were alright, maybe a novelty dancing snowman for good measure.

Now, I'm just bored/annoyed with the whole thing, and about the only part I find myself appreciating is some of the music and the Frosty the Snowman cartoon playing non-stop in the Imaginarium overnight at work.

It's cliche, and probably more exagerated than how I feel, but...

Bah, humbug.

Eh... I guess for some people it's just easier keeping in the spirit than others.. hard times can make it worse, so ah.. I have nothing real to say, don't mind me.

When you slave away at extended retail hours and get nothing as a bonus from your employers, not even a 'thank you' or a party, but you're forbidden to take a bit of time off to visit your family because it's "the busy season," yeah, I think it's pretty hard to "keep the spirit."

It's definitely an "outside looking in" sort of thing, so don't mind me. The only stockings I care about right now aren't the kind you hang for Santa...

...I know, which is why my post was so awkward. But I felt like I HAD to say something.
