Went to EB Games at the beginning of the month, and much to my surprise, and delight, they had a large MegaMan X7 stand-up featuring Axl displayed at the front window of the store. So naturally, I ask if anyone has put their name in for it yet, and if not, if I'd be able to. I'm told they don't know, to check back with the manager the next day.

Basically, I'd checked back with several people, by phone and in person, throughout the month, basically being told to check back later, that they can't do anything with it until the end of the month anyway, and they don't know if anyone's down to get it, etc.

So yesterday comes. I call to ask about it, two days before the end of the month. It's not there now, and today I called again to verify with someone else, who says they got rid of it.

So now I'm really fucking annoyed by the trouble I went through for this thing, just for them to throw it out first chance they got. Pricks.

I bet even if you bribed them, it wouldn't have helped. The best thing would've been to just pick it up, walk out the store, and not stop unless they aimed a firearm at you.

And it just seems to depend on where you go. I asked GameSpot for their little Samus cutout hanging on the wall, and the manager told me that employees get first say. But they tell me to come back about a month later, and I do, and it's GONE.

Then I went to EB who said they didn't know if they could give it away, but they tell me to leave my number.

Next day I buy Prime, Fusion and the GC in one swoop at TRU, and ask them for THEIRS. Guy went over, pulled it off the wall and handed it to me. I guess it didn't hurt that I spent so much at once. 9_9

This reminds me alot of about a year back... when Metroid Prime came out, Zaph was having the exact same difficulties with a Samus standie. If I recall, the manager wound up nearly cheating her out of it by telling her that she couldn't get it now, and then trying to sell it to someone else shortly after she left or something. Either way. The lesson is: DON'T TRUST THE MANAGERS. Those asshats.
