What's up with me.

Shout out to
lowellius, whose Powerlinx Hot Shot and Lion King DVD package finally made its way to us. I can say that I see the articulation issues people have with Hot Shot, but I don't find myself caring much. This is a blast. All I need is Overload's trailer for a Rodimus Prime flashback. Borrowing Overrun and Armorhide from Optimus and Rhinox really helps deck him out for battle, too.
So, I'm in the R-Zone right now at TRU. And when they aren't changing the schedules behind everyone's backs and putting me on regular cash, I'm enjoying the ever-loving hell out of myself. I truly feel in my environment, something that only really happens elsewise if someone asks about TransFormers, maybe Rangers or Turtles(tho the latter two have yet to really happen).
Hours out the whazoo, too. I should clock in at over 43 this week. Worst part is, I'm absolutely HORRIBLE at budgeting my time. If anyone is ANY good at putting together a timetable of sorts, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'll I'm really doing lately is working, sleeping, and occassionally checking a few things online, often when there's no one else on.
Stuff I need time for: playing video games(It's two years old, BN1 really needs to be beaten), TV, eating, sleeping, working(which they pretty much dictate at TRU, of course), drawing, writing, reading, and computer time.
Without some sort of a schedule, I'm most likely to just surf the net between bed and work, or watch a little TV before going to bed if Red is on.
I haven't even RPed in weeks, or at least it feels like it.
Working in R-Zone gets me neat bonuses, like badges for movies(a Disney rep thanked me for wearing my Nemo badge today), preview discs(well, just one), and a Sony neck-thing with an ad for Eye Toy on it. And talking to reps from Nintendo and X-Box gives me insight.
Working behind a regular register gives me suicidal depression. I wish I was kidding.
Speaking of Eye Toy, tried it at EB Games. It's a really neat piece of equipment, but I don't see it being terribly long for this world. It's arcade-style entertainment, to be sure-- a plus to me. Imagine Nintendo Zapper-style fun without the light gun, and using your own body to hit the objects on screen via a full video visual representation of yourself. It's really kinda neat. I just don't see a great deal of software being made for it.
Speaking of EB Games, they have a MMX7 standee I'm desperately trying to obtain. Dunno if it'll happen or not, though, sadly. I'll have to call later to find out.
Speaking of standees,
arteris still has one for Red and I. We'll have to get together sometime to pick it up, maybe do something else as well.
Memo to anyone who watches Yu-Gi-Oh: anyone know why suddenly that Celtic Guardian is "obnoxious"? It's baffling Red and I...
Speaking of Yu-Gi-Oh, I gotta confess to liking a certain part of that one in the new Shonen Jump. Yeah, I'm bad, but at least I admit to it.
And I think that's all I really need to say on this outing. That, and just a few amusing Flashes to close:
Redneck Gangsta Rap
Perfect Kirby 3.1(and check out the follow-up and other movies from the series, too).

Date: 2003-11-13 08:05 am (UTC)I worked full-time over the summer myself, and I found myself with the same problem. At least my hours were mostly regular, though. But it would be that each day I'd come home, do some chores, then hop online until I was up way too late. Then I'd struggle to wake up the next morning and repeat the cycle until the weekend, where I finally had time to do stuff but ended up just sleeping instead.
The life of a working stiff is a sad one indeed. Even though I had some nice games from Christmas, I didn't have the time to play any of them...

Date: 2003-11-13 08:21 am (UTC)2) That's part of the plan. I figure RPing would override anything else I'm doing on my schedule, so I didn't include it. Just one of those things, y'know?
3) Eye Toy is like a camera for the PS2 you put on top of your TV. It has a silhouette for you to stand in on the TV for you to be able to use it best. It really reminds me, what I've seen, of arcade shooters like Duck Hunt and such, only without the gun, using your hands instead. There are commercials for it now, as well. You can learn more at http://www.eyetoy.com/
4) Oh well. I was counting more on Mags or Ice to fill me in, anyway ;P

Date: 2003-11-13 10:06 am (UTC)And I can kinda relate to the whole free time thing. On weeks where I have an insane amount of hours at work (okay, 31 hours, but keep in mind I'm in high school), I just want to flop down in front of the first entertaining thing I find. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to stop doing that yet. =P I wish you luck in your search for a solution to this problem!

Date: 2003-11-13 11:56 am (UTC)Glad to hear you guys got your stuff ok though.
Well...
Date: 2003-11-13 07:07 pm (UTC)Monday, she calls. They were supposed to redeliver it Tuesday at request, and SOMEthing got totally fudged up there, to the point we had to go get it ourselves that day. And Wednesday, had to work, so you're actually hearing about this a bit late. So was Friday 3 days? If so, technically, it reached here in the time it was supposed to... and left again due to a disorganized operation ;P

Date: 2003-11-13 07:13 pm (UTC)So yeah, things are better, in that they aren't as bad as they were. Still, that IS improvement, so...
