lbd_nytetrayn I am so damn stupid sometimes.
Red is a Street Fighter fan, no big secret about that. And so am I. I'm such a fan that I even saw the Van Damme Street Fighter movie some time back. And for the most part, it was a fun movie. Mildly decent. Its biggest flaw was that, for all the things it was, it simply wasn't Street Fighter.
However, fan that she is, Red hasn't seen alot of the SF media blitz. I believe she's seen the Alpha anime movie, and read the first two issues of the Udon comic. Beyond that, I don't think she'd delved beyond the games too much.
This surprised me is that, in recent, when we were looking through an old GamePro with an interview with the movie's director, she told me she'd never seen Street Fighter. She's even seen Mortal Kombat, for the most part(and thanks to me, incidently), and Tomb Raider.
So I sought to remedy this the best way I knew how: eBay. "Something like that, I bet we could probably get for cheap" was my thinking, having been on eBay for years, often just window shopping for my own amusement.
Lo and behold, what before my eyes should appear but this. Two measley US dollars for not just the movie, but the DVD version of the movie. So naturally, I snatch it up with the Buy-It-Now option so no one else can grab it, since I saw no others at the time.
Sadly, I should've read the fine print. Turns out this guy is like one of a tiny handfull of sellers on eBay who doesn't accept PayPal. Lovely.
So my options are Cashier's Check/Money Order, or a personal check. I don't use personal checks, so I opt for the other. Between shipping costs to Canada, getting the money order, SENDING the money order, etc., I'm out 20 bucks, which I'm pretty much obligated to by this point.
So I've sent the money order, and last I heard, the guy hadn't received it yet. Worse still, I think the receipt/copy of the MO got lost as we were rearranging furniture and unpacking boxes and stuff. I haven't heard back from the guy since, and thankfully, he's not left me any negative feedback, but now I'm out 20 bucks, no DVD, and no way to check what happened to the damned money order.
And that's why I'm the stupidest son of a bitch on the face of the planet.
