These.

Guys.

Look.

Fucking.

Great.

I love the packaging. Now I need to see if I can talk them into maybe doing a more Complete Works-looking version sometime.

Holy crap, they do.

But I don't quite get the point of the "Build a Bot" thing. it looks like you'd be building Mega Man, but there is a Mega figure. Correct me if I'm wrong here.

The fifth figure is the "Full Charge" Mega Man figure. I believe it's meant to be a sort of version based on his blue-flashing NES days of Buster Charge Shots, before they got into all the energy effects.

Nope, all new.

Just that Guts Man was probably the most accurate one from the show...

what they should do is take that "build a bot" idea and make some rearrangeable bots!

Copy Weapon figure system, anybody?
Pretty cool retro style.

I hope they get rid of the noses when they release wave II of Retro.
If I'm getting a good chunk of the retro figures, I wonder if I should just collect them all seeing how I already want Elec, Guts, and Blues.

I'll try to post the full results of my talk with Jazwares later tonight. MMN's news upload thingy sends me about 8 Norton warnings and junk for every part of it I try to access.

But pertaining to noses...

Me:
> The Retro Roto line looks great, except I've noticed it's been picked
> up by a number of people that characters who shouldn't have noses have
> been given them. Hopefully this can be fixed before they see
> mass-production. Other than that, they really look great, and I can't
> wait to see them in-person.
>

Them:
the retro figures follow the early concept + manual art and those characters dont have noses in that reference. these are capcom approved (japan really loves them) so consider it to be legit and not a mistake to fix.

If you really feel strongly about it, then go here (http://www.jazwares.com/contact.php). They can be receptive at times, just less so when I tell them ahead of time about things...

I have Jesse's e-mail already, and I already showed him most art showing them without a nose, but I guess I can ask them again...

Well, he says that they didn't have noses in the art they followed, and that Capcom liked them, so they kept them. So they don't feel it was a mistake.

Must have been secret artwork the public has never been seen... That doesn't make much sense seeing how we never saw them so I'm steering more towards all the other official art.

What I think is meant is that even though they weren't there originally, Capcom liked them.

Is this the same Capcom that suggested Command Mission X revised carry Marino's weapons?

I believe they said Japan, lemme check my post...

"Japan really loves them."

So... not sure. I THINK CapUSA was the one for the weapons...

Capcom Japan has neglected the MM classic series since Rock Man and Forte.... They probably forgot if Heat, Wood, and Ice had noses.

Maybe in terms of basing it off of obscure unreleased artwork, but I still think it's obscure to use it in the first place seeing how Heat, Wood, and Ice have never been seen with noses in terms of official artwork and sprites. Even in Super Adventure Rock Man Heat Man and Wood Man did not have noses on their sprites... So I assume that they officially do not have noses whatsoever. The only time I saw Heat Man and Wood Man with noses is the Mega Shows, but that's the same show that let Sigma play the role of Air Man...
Maybe it would help if the figure came with a picture of the original artwork they based if off of....Why can't they?

I'm determined to get this nose problem fixed, if not I'll have to sand off the noses off my the figures I get myself.

They'd either have to charge more for the figures then, or lose money from creating an entirely new mold for a freebie bonus. With the Charged-Up Mega Man, they're getting to reuse a mold they've already bought and paid for to include a freebie-- no added costs for tooling or sculpting.

They are still a relatively small company, after all. Maybe if they get bigger, they can afford to do that sort of thing more. As it is, this may just be a test... Jesse has mentioned that they may consider doing something similar in the mainline with Treble.

Look at it this way: it beats the paper cut-out standees that came with the metallics, right?
