Oooh, BURNED.
Signed,
Your Loving Friends @ Capcom
PS: He's called the Blue Bomber because he's blue, y'know.
Anyway, that's sort of how I read this one, though I'm well aware that the fact the Revolution is looking to be last to market may have something to do with it, and nothing rules out the possibility of a port later on.
Still, to announce the sequel to your smash-hit Nintendo game on both rivals' platforms just seems like... ouch.
Incidently, I could have sworn that I heard that the RE team was upset with Capcom renegging on the exclusivity deal with Big N, and packed their bags to make their own green pastures. Or part of the team. I know the guy behind Street Fighter left to form his own company... I think they're doing a DBZ arcade game now.
I also thought RE4 was supposed to be the last.
This sounds familiar.
In a way, this sort of reminds me of the whole Inafune/X5/MMZero bit. Thank God he's still around, at least. And seeming to work exclusively on Nintendo(not counting ports and such). Not that I'd mind if the stuff were cross-platform, of course...

Date: 2005-07-20 07:17 pm (UTC)Is that so? Last I'd heard the Revolution was looking toward a mid-2006 release, and the PS3 a later 2006 release. Were there new developments in releases? I suppose if Sony is that worried about the XBox...
