I was reading the recent Anime Invasion I picked up a week ago... the cover mentioned the Big O 2, so added to a few other things, I knew this was a must-get, even though I could easily just read it in the store.
Well, not as easily as before... I no longer have to wait for Red to get off work, so that's less time at Indigo. Part of me weeps, as Indigo is one of the only two book places(Media Play being the other) where it really IS more like a library. They even have comfy seats, furniture, and snacks sold. Seems like places like that are more about making sure people read, rather than just making money. I guess the plot is "get them hooked, and the money will come when they want to do it elsewhere". Fine by me.
Anyway, Big O 2. Turns out it's coming sooner than I'd imagined. I'd known about it for some time, but it just seemed so sudden to me. Worst part is, we are in Canada, where there is no Cartoon Network. Canada seems to be one place sans Cartoon Network, and that just chaps my balls sometimes.
Yeah, we get alot of shows here the US do. But whenever something new is coming, there is this dreadful uncertainty that rides along with it. Yeah, we got DBZ(a different dub, no less), Gundam Wing, and Yu-Gi-Oh on the anime front, among others. Yet we do not and may very well not ever get DB, DBGT, any other Gundam(actually, I've heard something about Zeta... need to look into that), MegaMan NT Warrior, Big O, Tenchi, Trigun, Kikaider, Cowboy Bebop... it's annoying.
Fortunately, we get Fox ok, even though our area doesn't get Kids' WB. So that means come fall, I'll get to see the Sonic X dub, my current favorite anime.
As for Big O 2, I weep. I was fortunate enough to be in NC with CN(hmm, never noticed they share the same initials before...) when the first Big O hit. I loved the first two eps, taped the whole series... all 13 eps. But I'd been holding onto them to watch with Red, which is a more recent development. She likes the show too, alot more than alot of other anime, it seems. So it disappoints me greatly that we won't get to see the sequel, after the first season ended on a cliffhanger(the details of which I still need to see). At least I picked up a couple of the Viz manga issues for a dollar per at the comic convention in NC to tide me over... ah, Ariga. Why will you not do a Rockman Dash manga? It is so suited to you...
And for those keeping score, btw, the CD-ROM drive is sitting in the open position. I rather not tempt fate.
Working on earning Zenny in Legends 2 earlier... annoying task. But after we clear this ice ruin, all should be well... I should be able to get my precious back... my dear, sweet, Shining Laser, yes... then ALL will be well. Or else. *laughs evilly*
Ran one of my last sessions(for now) of BN last night. I'm quite happy with the results, but I'll detail that more later. This is getting long...

Date: 2003-07-07 03:46 pm (UTC)The best after you beat the ice ruins place is that massive room where you hunted down the key reaverbots (right before the boss room). Just take out the giant missile-shooting thing in there, and you can run around shooting the little barrel-shaped things that pop up at you until your fingers get tired. Bring the vacuum arm with you so you'll have an easier time collecting the zenny, your weapon and life energy should easily refill on the cubes that you get from the defeated enemies.
Yess...
