XBox 360 gave us an impressive, if not a bit gaudy, presentation on the sheer earth-shattering power of their system, along with a few cool features that I'm sure developers will be on board for. To compete, Sony gave us a deluge of bullshit, caught now in not one but two lies about their current development status, adding disillusionment to an already disappointing E3 showing.

That said, I like how Nintendo's response to both was to sit back with a sly smirk, confident in the features they do have ready but not willing to fake it for the ones they don't (like a certain other Japan-based company). Nintendo for the win.

I find it pretty funny that for me, I'm more excited about getting to play old games rather than the new games with shiny graphics. I just hope the developers follow Nintendo's lead and either lets people download their old games free, or provide downloads with a game's purchase.

Finally people will lay off on the emulation a little bit.

Yes, I must concur, Nintendo did come out on top of the E3 wars. I suspect they will stage quite the comeback this coming next gen war. Sony seems to have lost alot of favour with people. And they can no longer boast being a dvd player in an era where no one HAS a dvd player.
