We acctually DID learn about that in Psych 2...well 260 or somthing I think.

We're lazy readers when we know a language well. That's how slang got started :D

Reading that made me catch one difference between those mixed-up letters and n00b-speak. All of those psuedo-words were made up of the letters that actually made up the word. Usually, n00b-speak drops and/or substitutes other letters, making the words less legible. Context helps greatly in understanding here, but it won't always be the saving grace.

Hebrew (and other languages, I'm sure) is almost always written without vowels by people who know it fluently. The idea is the same; people who know the language well enough can recognise the word easily enough because they're so familiar with it.
