New terminology

"Customers" are assholes, jerks, morons, and inconsiderate people.

"Clients(or clientele)" are those who deserve respect, and treat in a kind and courteous manner.

Have trouble remembering which is which? Here's remembering the EASY way!

"CUStomers" make you want to CUSS their fucking brains out of their ears before it gets lost in the lint on the floor.

"Clients" sound professional, even respectable.

What about "Guests," as per tradition of the store I used to work at? I spent eight hours a day asking "Who invited you??"
