Unexpected surprise.

So, went to work as per usual today, and got a few pleasant surprises.

One being that, when Game Guru over the next couple of months, I won't have to wear the horrid yellow t-shirts advertising "THE END OF LATE FEES." I haven't worn a bright color since the 80s, and it didn't look good on me then, either. This isn't something to which I look forward to.

Of course, I now get to wear a neat "Doom 3" t-shirt that's nice, large, and comfy to promote the game's XBox release. And it's black, my color, natch.

I thought I was in trouble when my manager said he needed to see me for a second. Turns out I got "Employee of the Month" for December, just sort of late. And I got a neat Blockbuster bag for my troubles, too.

I was stunned. Besides not even knowing we HAD "Employee of the Month," I never expected to get it. Busting your ass for no such recognition, even being let go despite it, you sort of tend not to think of such things.

So yeah, that was pretty cool.

And it sounds like I may get to move up in the rank and file of the store soon, too.
