lbd_nytetrayn: Star Force Dragonzord Power! (Default)

Battle Network seems to be the call of the day, at least as far as Role Playing has been going lately. Which makes me happy, I've been building towards the end of this storyarc for a little over a year now. A few bumps in the road happened during the course of the final session for the BN1 storyarc, turning it into two sessions, but at least it's done now. The mastermind behind the BIOS City chapter of the World Three was revealed to be none other than Torrent Leviathan EXE(with a big thanks to Neon Tiger for helping me revise her character into an EXE form), his plot was foiled, and Nytetrayn EXE's past was revealed.

Overall, I'm happy with how things came out. A few people sadly weren't able to make it for both sessions, and some made it for one, but not the other. As it is, as far as I'm concerned, whoever wasn't able to make the second session was there, they were just doing their thing and being quiet about it. It's really the best thing I can offer, given the circumstances.

Funny thing about it, though. It ended up reflecting the way things go in the actual BN1 video game alot more than I had planned or expected. Go figure. :P

I did sort of like how the "replay" went down, especially between Nekori and BugMan. Classic.

Also, if anyone missed it, here's what basically happened regarding the Chaos Virus: World Three agents had stolen various programs to help create said virus, giving it control over all four main elements, and a few others(such as the transmission program from the radio station, which would allow itself to transmit parts of itself to other networks and parts of the web). These in place, the virus would start to spread and corrupt the networks, putting them under Torrent's control. One final, and very important program, the Electricity Program, was destroyed at the power plant, so Torrent had to create a makeshift program which would allow the virus to draw power and use it as it needed. That would be the red program crystal, which was also its weak-point, as it was a makeshift program. Once that was gone, it could no longer draw power and keep itself energized, and it became a matter of just wearing it down beyond recovery.

A couple of my choice pieces of music ended up not being used, sadly. Most notable to me being "United Against The Enemy", which was supposed to play for a sort of intermission during the fight with the Chaos Virus, where we'd get to see how our resident Super Navi, Black Draco EXE, was faring against Torrent. Didn't end up happening, nor did the remix of "The Touch" for the final blow in that and the Chaos Virus battle.

Ironically, no one got to use their Aura chips during the entirety of both sessions, that I can recall. Just as well, Torrent was there more for storyline purposes, anyway, so it wouldn't have made a difference.

Speaking of Torrent, I just loved it when it dawned on people who the big nasty was waiting for them. That, and when they realized the other black Navidrake was Shuri EXE. Those were definite high points for me. Frankly, when I revealed the lair was in the sewers, I expected people to catch on alot quicker. Lucky me, in that regard.

Something I should mention for the players, which I never got to mention during the game: Torrent wasn't really going to nuke everyone. He just said that for the helpless expression on everyone's faces as he systematically tore them to shreds. His plan chiefly was to subjugate(sp?) the humans by taking over the entire network they've become so reliant on.

The Dragon Knights are another lot I've been eager to introduce. I can't wait to get to draw them, as soon as I have a place to draw. But the plans I have for their designs are really cool, I like them better than the originals' designs, actually, based on that. All in time, though...

Speaking of time, my time as GM is of course on borrowed time, at least on BN for now. I have a good couple of sessions left in me, then I'm turning things over to Gelg and Mags so they can work their magic, while I turn my attention to reviving the 21XX RPG, and an upcoming Legends storyline.

Speaking of Legends, I hope the rest of the group(everyone besides Mags and myself) can find some way to keep their characters going while we're doing our thing. I'm sort of curious to see things develop without Nytetrayn, Celeste, and Janette at the center of it all.

After I get the fanfic done for Legends, I'm looking at perhaps doing one that tells Nytetrayn EXE's origin in more detail. Hopefully, that one will come up soon. And then I have my 21XX series of fics to do...

Anyhow, in the end, I hope everyone enjoyed the Endgame session of Battle Network as much as I did. Still have a few loose ends to wrap up, including a few surprises I think people will enjoy... time will tell on that one, however. I do have plans for another pretty big arc down the line, but the time for that will come later. I'm sort of looking forward to letting someone else handle the new sessions soon. And here's hoping I do well with 21XX... guess we'll have to see how that one goes.

As always, to see the log of Endgame(and all the rest), just click right here and scroll to the bottom.

I fixed your Red Eyes Black Dragon portrait. Don't worry, I didn't go rifiling through your cards to do it.

What kinda decks did you guys get? If you need any help learning the ropes, lemme know! I may not be an expert or anything, but I've got my share of experience, hehe.

Haha! And we'll see whose ass gets stomped! [draws Stompijira the Ass Stomper card]

Activate trap, "Cleaned the Pipes"! I only take half normal Nosebleed Damage for this turn!

But I still lose 1000 life points. Teá... [sploosh]

Nuts!... hey, now that's an idea. I activate the trap card, "Blue Balls" for this turn, which prevents you from taking any further measures against "Tea the Desired One" for three whole turns!

Heh, Tea is what got me watching. The characters and story got me to stay. Love that show...

Haha! I like Teá too, but be careful around fangirls! They'll rip you a new one!

The show kinda surprised me in how it got me hooked, but I guess lately it's started feeling more like an advertisement for the card game, heh... I haven't been able to catch it regularly because of my schedule, too. But hey! Have you read the manga? Now that's really great!

If turning the nearest magazine rack into a library when I get the chance to grab a Shonen Jump counts as reading, then yeah, I'm all over that. ;)

Seriously, I want the first volume of the collection... I need to catch up. But no one has it! :(

A red eyes? Cute. :) If we ever meet we must duel one another, for I wish to duel newbies (because more experienced players always kick my ass).

For the record, I thoroughly enjoyed your arc of BN, and endgame was just plain cool. I only hope that Gelg and I can adequately fill your shoes... well, more Gelg really, the only ideas I have just revolve around Jihad and Hades blowing shit up. ;)

Get to work on 21XX! *cracks whip*

Glad you liked my run on BN, and 21XX, I'll start working on once my work on BN is finished. Actually, I've already begun, but I'll work more on it once I'm done here.

As for Yu-Gi-Oh, once Nadia and I have a good place to play, look out. I don't plan on being an easy mark.

"YOU'RE GOING DOWN, BITCH! I'M COMING OUT OF THE BOOOOTH!!! *screech!* :)
