A strong rumor suggests that Dreamwave Productions may be closing its doors. This concerns me greatly.

honestly, the only ones I care about are the artists (minus rob ruffalo) and the writers (minus sarracini). pat lee deserves this. screwing over Patyk and McDonough the way he and his staff did is unacceptable. they're off the G1 book, its going to a talentless hack like sarracini. furman, who is another great writer, is still so damn caught up with grimlock being the star of the show that it's destroying any potential for greatness he has. the only REAL downside to this as far as I'm concerned? no longer seeing don and guido's artwork in comic form.

Well, Furman did get Grimlock out of the current War Within...

And this overall concerns me as to the fate of TransFormers and Mega Man comics, for reasons that you have been privy to.

I love the work they do, but really, the buisness practives that I've heard (first hand mind you) that they're dabbling in sets them into the same spiral that CrossGen went down a couple of monthes ago. If we could get a guarentee that Don, Simon, James and Adam go with the liscense I'd be all for any, ANY other company getting the liscense, and since Hasbro owns everything they can just continue the storys they've been working on, without the forshortened hand of Pat Lee in the mix.

Yeah, their business practices suck, but I do enjoy some of the product, and have strong hopes for some of the others.

I agree. They've been about 66% good, 33% bad. Volume 2 of TWW and Micromasters were bad. Straight up. The G1 stuff is great, and the ongoing is without a doubt the best TF's stories put to paper. I love them taking the chance and going on with TWW, but for me the art is everything on that series, and Don/Joe are much better than Wildman.

Like I said, if the guys they've hired out specifically for TF's get jobs elsewhere writing TF's I'd be happy.

I love wildman's art, but they stuck him with rob ruffalo as a colorist, which ended up in his art getting butchered. check out the original prints on wildfur.net (or is it .com?). he's still as good as he was back on marvel G1.

This news makes me a sad panda.

Ahhh man. That's terrible! I loved their Transformer's G1 comic! I mean, ya, I don't touch any of their other stuff (I'm more of an Antartic Press guy meself), but they're comics always look really spiffy on the shelves...

Plus, if they go out of business, how ELSE am I supposed to follow the lovable backstabbing misadventures of my favorite character of anything ever, Starscream?

Little doubt someone else would snatch up the rights after leaving Dreamwave's hands...

...what concerns me personally is Mega Man.
