Feb. 8th, 2011 01:10 amSure, Transformers: Prime really kind of ticked me off in its opening moments by eliminating a character who was heavily promoted and who I was really looking forward to seeing. But it's grown on me. Enough so I don't hate it for that. I may have even forgiven it, but I will not forget it.
That said: I like these new toys. They feel like they meet someplace between the movie-based figures and those from Animated. A good place.
I wish the movie versions were more akin to these, in fact. These aren't as hard to follow. And hopefully, not as difficult and precise in their transformations.
My only gripe at this point is that Optimus seems to only have one gun, when I've just spent the past two or three episodes watching him dual-wield, plus make use of an arm-mounted blade. But word is this may be a smaller version, so hopefully they'll have one who is full-equipped.
