Spider-man gets organic webshooters!

I'm sort of with the camp who feel the reasoning is weaker than the change itself, though if Stan Lee is ok by it(as I read on their comments, he'd have done something like that back when Spidey was first conceived, but it would've been considered too gross), then I am too.

Incidently, I wonder if this will impact Ultimate Spider-man.

Frankly, I could see these changes having been a side-effect of the Man-spider thing, and being more acceptable.

Anyway, the REAL problem that will likely arise from this is now, anytime someone in Hollywood makes a change to a character such as this, it's going to cause the property's entire fandom to place it under a microscope and start to panic that it'll happen in the source material, too.

Dammit! I liked his metal web shooters. They look plausible, to the extent that anything in comic books looks plausible. If he really were going to have organic web shooters, he'd be shooting out his butt. *reads thread* Wait, what the hell? Those are Osborn's kids? Norman Osborn's kids??? Arrrrgh! Have they no shame anymore?

...I have got to start reading more comic books in the store.

In all honesty, I really don't care what kidn fo web-shooters he has, if any at all. The evolution of a character over time is the only thing that matters. I'm of the belief that sticking to all of the roots all of the time makes the character stagnant, stale and whatever other blah words you can think of. The opens a new angle for Peter Parker, both the organic webbing and the enhanced Spider sense. I know a lot of people who read Spider Man. (a lot of my older friends own a Comic Book store, after all...) and I'm sure when I talk to them about it, they'll be upset. I still don't see any real reason to be anyway.

I've got mixed feeling about the whole organic webbing thing. On the one hand, Peter never gets to show us just how good at chemistry he is. But on the other, he'll never have to worry about reloading his web shooters.

I've been a die-hard Spidey fan for a long time, and I never really got why people made such a big deal over the organic webshooters in the movie... it's a heck of a lot more believable than a high school kid inventing a formula and getting the chemicals to make it, especially when he's on a tight budget. I mean... it's such a minor thing, it didn't change the quality of the films at all.

I like the changes in his powers, personally... though I'm sure it'll go over as well as the Clone Saga.

It's all a part of him being a genius in that kinda things, the movies took a lot of that away, and made him look more like the average HS geek.
